About the Tribunal
At the Superannuation Complaints Tribunal, we deal with complaints about superannuation that have been received on or before 31 October 2018.
New complaints must be made to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA). You can learn more about AFCA at www.afca.org.au.
If you send a complaint to the Tribunal on or after 1 November 2018, it will be returned to you with instructions to contact AFCA.
The Superannuation (Resolution of Complaints) Act 1993 (the Complaints Act) sets out the Tribunal's functions, powers and procedures. In all its work, the objectives of the Tribunal are to be fair, economical, informal and quick.
The Superannuation Complaints Tribunal was established by the Australian Government in 1992. We commenced operation on 1 July 1994 and held our first review meeting on 15 December 1994. The Superannuation Complaints Tribunal now continues operation to resolve complaints received on or before 31 October 2018, and will close when that work is complete.
The Complaints Act will be repealed on a date to be fixed by proclamation or, if no date is fixed, on 6 February 2022.
