Privacy impact assessments
The Tribunal is required to manage personal information in accordance with the privacy principles contained in the Privacy Act 1988. This protects personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification and/or disclosure.
A privacy impact assessment (PIA) is a systematic assessment of a project that identifies the impact that the project might have on the privacy of individuals, and sets out recommendations for managing, minimising and/or eliminating that impact. The Tribunal is required to make available PIAs for all high privacy risk projects or initiatives that involve new or changed ways of handling personal information from 1 July 2018.
Below is a register of our PIAs. This register will be updated as new PIAs are completed (at least twice a year by 30 June and 31 December). If you would like further information, please contact our Privacy Officer at firstname.lastname@example.org.
